Nicholas Barker, a passionate and dedicated Spanish teacher, is eager to make his mark in his first year at Clover Hill.
Barker studied Spanish for six years and holds a Master’s degree in foreign languages from Newport University. He now intends to utilize his extensive knowledge to be the best Spanish teacher he can be at Clover Hill.
“I became a teacher because I want to introduce the history of Spanish culture to many students of this generation and help them grasp the knowledge of Spanish,” Barker said.
Prior to joining Clover Hill, Barker taught at Highland Springs High School. One aspect he found lacking in his previous position was the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of students.
“One thing that drew me to become a teacher here is the diversity this school has,” Barker said.
Barker is hoping to have a long and fulfilling career as a teacher at Clover Hill. His initial impression of the school was very positive, and that feeling has continued as he has interacted with students and faculty.
“The teachers here are very supportive and provide me with tips on how to improve my teaching,” Barker said. “Even the students here are friendly and enthusiastic.”
Both teachers and students are helping Barker settle into his new role and improve as a teacher in his first year.
“I believe that if I continue teaching what I teach, it will not only benefit me but also many others,” Barker said.
Barker has relished his new title as a Spanish teacher at Clover Hill and is enthusiastic about the bright future he is shaping for the students.
