On Jan. 17, winter’s weather brought frost and ice to the trees and flowers of the Hill. Dormant trees sparkled with frozen raindrops, while winter annuals, the few plants still growing and thriving despite this season’s cold, were coated in a layer of frost until it melted in the morning sun.
Hollies still hold their last few berries until they nourish the birds for the final months of winter.
