Caleb Wilcox is a Math and Science Senior and the current holder of the school record for the 1000m dash. His record makes him the 2nd fastest runner in Virginia and 3rd in the whole country. Wilcox plans to run track at William & Mary, the college he will be attending next year.
Wilcox originally picked up running during his sophomore year of high school after meeting some friends who got him interested.
“I met some people over the summer that convinced me to start up cross country, and I ended up being decent at it,” Wilcox said.
After trying out cross country at the school, he decided to join the track team in the spring, which he discovered to be something he truly enjoyed and excelled at. Over the years, Wilcox has made many friends and memories through the sport.
“My favorite thing about running track is the community. I made some really good friends that I plan on keeping up with for as long as I can,” Wilcox said.
Wilcox is looking forward to what’s to come for him in college as he builds his experience and skills.
“I just want to go out there and push myself as hard as I can and see where it takes me. I’ve been doing well in high school and I want to stay on that path as I go into college,” Wilcox said.
