As the school year comes to a close, seniors prepare to make their grand exit and onto the next part of life. Amongst the graduating class of 2024, Meredith Lauler prepares herself for the next step on the fulfilling path. During her senior year, Lauler accomplished getting an award in art for her skills in digital painting, and she hopes to succeed with her student made film.
Lauler has focused on making a student film production during the year, called “I’m Too Young,” with scripts, actors and the other necessities to make a great film. She hopes to finish the film this summer, as she has already been working on it for six months. The film will be about how Lauler feels that teens are too young for drinking, alcohol and other topics along those lines. The teaser trial for the film was published to Youtube a month prior, and has already gathered 200 views.
“I am very dedicated to this film and hope people will get something from it,” said Lauler.
Lauler plans to go to Brightpoint for its graphics and film classes. She discovered her interest in arts and film during her high school years, and has been drawing since she was young. Working on her student film has also inspired her to progress in film making and plans to keep moving forward in that department of fine arts.
Though moving on from high school is exciting, Lauler feels an ache of sadness, as she enjoyed rising from freshmen into senior year, meeting the people she’s met, and attending all the interesting events high school has to offer.
“I would say I am sad to leave this chapter but excited to graduate and start a new one,” Lauler said. “But future advice to the freshmen of next year, never be afraid to use your voice and personality to make a statement, and be yourself.”
