It might seem like some Clover Hill sports teams lack support. Many students believe that reducing the entry price into events will change that by increasing school spirit and creating for a more encouraging atmosphere.
Some people feel like the price of tickets is a barrier for students that want to attend the games. If this barrier is broken, the student section would be more supportive. The support from students would reflect on the performance of our student athletes. Junior Will Lohr, a student athlete, shares his ideas on improving support for sports teams.
“I think if we were to lower the costs there would be more support. It would overall be more alive and the games wouldn’t be as bland,” Lohr said. “More support is always better.”
With a limited turnout at games, there is a lack of school spirit. This lack of school spirit overall negatively impacts the atmosphere in the student sections.
Renee Green, Assistant Principal of Clover Hill High School, cannot understate the importance of an energized student section.
“Students bring energy, they bring excitement, the more people you have in the stands the more the players are then likely to play better.”
Despite this challenging season that Clover Hill sports teams are experiencing, students want to revive school spirit. Many students hope that with a lower ticket price, attendance at the games will boost the atmosphere.
With more support pouring into these sports events, teams might have a chance to improve.
“Part of it is that people want to come see games where people are winning. If certain programs start to win then more people are more likely to come,” Green said.
Students remain hopeful that the price changes affect school spirit at Clover Hill sports events.

I agree with this article. Over the full course of the year, students would drop over $100 on game tickets. As high school students, students simply can’t spend money like that.

I agree that the student ticket prices should be lower, I like how you got quotes from students around the school to show that a lot of people agree with your idea. you’re writing in this article is very interesting and I really enjoyed the insight of other students.

yes it would be better if they did lower the price. The more people that show up the more hyped the player will be. If more people show up to see the game the more they players will try to play better .

I totally agree with you. Lowering the prices for tickets would bring in more people and more spirit to the games. Some student don’t have jobs so its harder for them to get money to go to the games. Even if the prices were lower they would still make about the same amount of money because more people would be able to come.

This article is something I have thought a lot about. These kids are having to pay 10 dollars every week to go to these games and thats money a lot of people dont have. I believe that if we change the price to 5 dollars would be better. More people would b e able to go to the games. The intake of money would be the same because more people would be able to go. This is an important topic that Chesterfield County needs to work on.

I definitely think that decreasing ticket prices for football games would improve school spirit and make the game more enjoyable. More people at the games would also help the team to play better with the extra support. Some students also might not have enough money to get into the games.

I agree with what he said. If they lower the price more people . the player would be more hyped about the game when more people go to see them. It would be a good idea to lower the price because more people would come if its lower
