As the soccer season starts, the boys’ and girls’ teams are ready to compete and perform better than previous years. They are confident in their chemistry and have faith that their upperclassmen will make an impact on the game.
The boys’ soccer team, led by one of the captains KC Chris, is confident in their ability to accomplish a stronger season than in past years. “I think Aaron does a good job at forming us as a team and keeping us in formation. I think together we will be able to formulate a plan to beat teams.” said KC Chris. Working together as a team with a solid plan should bring Clover Hill to victory.
The girls’ soccer team believes in their seniors and upperclassmen to be good role models and athletes throughout the season. Clara Heath, a varsity player, says, “This season the team is going to be entirely juniors pretty much, in previous seasons we had a really young team.” said Heath. While Heath is confident in having a team full of upperclassmen, Mr. Anderson, girls’ soccer coach, thinks that the leadership is the most important change this year compared to past seasons. “We are going to have better leadership from our upperclassmen.” said Anderson.
Both of Clover Hills soccer teams are confident in different strategies they can put together to challenge their opponents. “As we play together we will be able to develop more strategies as a team,” said Heath.
Chemistry is one of the most important capabilities for a team to have on the field. Getting along with teammates, understanding each other on the field, and being able to give each other constructive criticism are all good qualities. Both teams are confident in their abilities to continue to have good chemistry. “A lot of us played with each other last year. We will have good chemistry this year.” said KC. The girls team is just as confident in their ability to have chemistry in their team, “I would say we have pretty good chemistry as a team.” said Heath
Mr. Anderson has an understanding that the opposing teams they play are not going to be their biggest struggle. “The most challenging team to beat is ourselves,” said Anderson.
Clover Hills boys’ and girls’ soccer teams have plenty of potential to be great. If they can handle challenges while staying a strong team, nothing will get in their way this season.
