Clover Hill lacrosse players are confident for their upcoming season. With a couple of scrimmages played, they feel that their new coaches and talent is going to help them throughout the season.
The lacrosse team has new players coming onto the team and many players returning from previous years. The team is filled with confidence and talented players that will help them win this year.
“We have a lot of people returning so just a lot more confidence on the field and a lot more confidence in games,” said Michael Wilson.
The team is filled with strengths that will help them this season. With a strong defense and good shooters that can score goals, the team will breeze through the season getting wins.
“I say strength is that we have really good shooters and we are really good on defense,” said Evan Marshall.
Working hard during practice is always important for any sports team. So far this year the lacrosse team has been training and getting better every day. They are always working on skills they need to improve on to become a better team.
“Putting work in at practice and really working on things we need to improve on” said Wilson.
While other teams are resting on the weekends, our lacrosse team is putting in the work. They are preparing for the season and building up all players’ confidence.
“We have been doing a lot of practices and doing weekend practices,” said Coleman James.
With some new coaches, the team is excited to experience different coaching styles. Their game plan is going to be stronger than previous years which will lead to more wins.
“We have a few new coaches that are a bit younger so we have new faces and different coaching styles” said Wilson
Their season will be competitive, playing Cosby and Midlothian are going to be difficult games. The Cavs will work their hardest to keep these challenging games competitive.
“[Our hardest games will be] Cosby and Midlo because they are always the better teams in the area,” said Wilson.
Previous years the team was not involved in much strategy, while this year they are prepared with more of a game plan. They are going to flow better as a team and have better plays.
“We’re setting up a lot more plays that will flow a lot better than last year,” said James.
The hard work the lacrosse team put in this pre-season is going to pay off. With good chemistry, a strong offense and defense, and returning players, the team has set themselves up for a successful season.
