Social media trends are one of the most influential things in student’s lives and school life.
A trend could include a variety of things, since anything can become popular with the right advertisement. The trend could be popular music, clothes that people want to buy, or maybe a food item that rises in popularity. Some of the popular things that are on social media right now are Stanley cups, the Sanrio franchise, and Converse sneakers.
Stanley tumblers are a trend that has made its way into everyone’s lives. Stanley is a water bottle brand that is most popular for its ability to keep drinks cold or hot, and the variety of colors or designs on the bottles. They have many different sizes, the most popular one being the forty ounce.
Sophomore Adilyn Schneider owns a Stanley and likes the design of it. She got it when it was popular.
“I like the handle of it,” Schneider said. “I got it when it was popular, like a year ago.”
Sanrio is a franchise that has taken root in alot of peoples lives, mainly introduced in everybody’s childhood. Kuromi, Hello Kitty, and Cinnamoroll are some of the most famous characters in the franchise, but there are plenty more characters that people love.
Sophomore Natalie Choi has taken a liking to Sanrio and appreciates the franchise very much. Her favorite characters are Pochacco and Chococat, but she likes them all as well.
“I started to like Sanrio because it was very popular at the time,” Choi said. “I started liking it three years ago, and I saw a lot of it on Tiktok.”
Choi also says that her interest was supported by social media.
“Definitely social media has helped influence it,” Choi said, “Social media influences everything these days.”
Converse shoes are also a popular trend. Converse is a shoe brand, mainly recognizable by its icon of a star. With most shoes, Converse has a variety of colors and styles, the most popular being the Converse All Star high tops. The shoes have been popular for many years, but social media has helped promote it more.
Sophomore Stacey Keel wears Converse high tops and loves them for their style and comfort.
“They’re comfortable shoes and they match a lot of things well,” Keel said. “My favorite color is black, and my favorite style is high top.”
As shown in Clover Hill, social media has its influence everywhere. Whenever someone walks into a classroom, they are bound to see one of the trends that were mentioned, and even teachers participate in the trends. These are just some of the favorites that students are enjoying at Clover Hill, but there are many more!
