At Clover Hill High School, few seniors have made an impact as broad as Everett Aileo. Whether it is leading the team on the lacrosse field, the volleyball court, or taking the stage in show choir, Everett has become a standout in both athletics and the arts.
As captain of the lacrosse team, he has earned All-County and 3rd Team All-Region honors, helping power the team with strong offensive abilities.
“You can’t win a game without scoring,” Aileo said.
His journey started thanks to his brother, Lance Aileo.
“My eighth grade summer my brother had been playing lacrosse so he was like, you should join me as well. So I was like, you know what, [if] my brother can do it, I certainly can,” Aileo said.
Off the field, Everett is just as driven. He has been dance captain in show choir for three years, also serving as a vocal section leader.
“I really helped to improve the group’s dancing and I’ve been a vocal section leader just to help improve the vocal quality,” Aileo said.
His passion for performing started in elementary school after watching high school groups perform.
“In fifth grade there was a pyramid concert and Matoaca High School was performing at it and I saw their show and thought it was pretty cool, and in sixth grade I saw Clover Hill’s performance because my sister was in the choral department,” Aileo said.
He is also active in Tri-M Music Honor Society, Beta Club, National Tech Honor Society (NTHS), pep band, and is also the senior class Historian. One of his favorite experiences was organizing a Battle of the Bands event and helping run an instrument petting zoo to introduce younger students to the arts.
“We got to put on a Battle of the Bands. There was an instrument petting zoo that the group put on, that was really nice to help introduce the performing arts to the younger generation,” Aileo said.
Aileo will attend Penn State University this fall, where he plans to major in Accounting, although he is open to exploring other areas of business. He is excited for a new chapter, but grateful for the foundation CHHS gave him.
“Clover Hill has really offered a great selection of opportunities, I certainly love that I chose to go [here]” Aileo said.
