As the 2024-2025 school year has come to an end, many seniors begin to assess just how successful they were over the course of their four year high school career. When it comes to the band, senior Joshua Wiseman did not miss a single opportunity to advance his school career.
Wiseman, Clover Hill’s award-winning band conductor, is one of the most accomplished seniors of his 2025 class. He has won awards such as the Superintendent’s Award for Band and the U.S Marines Semper Fidelis Award.
“I received a Clover Hill Medal,” Wiseman said. “I’m extremely grateful to have been awarded something only five people received.”
During his time here at the Hill, many remember him in a positive light, using words like “successful” and “unrelenting” when describing his character, reaffirming the fact that Wiseman was and will continue to be an unforgettable and irreplaceable asset to the Clover Hill community.
Wiseman may have done some remarkable things during his time in high school, but, fortunately for the liberal arts community, he does not plan on stopping so early on.
“I’m attending JMU [James Madison University] to pursue a teaching career in music,” Wiseman said.
According to the soon-to-be graduate, he aspires to be like the various musical mentors he had growing up, teaching other children to follow their dreams as he is going on to do now.
Music has made life significantly better for many worldwide, and Wiseman would even say it has greatly improved his high school experience, and with so many awards, anyone could see why!
Although based on the given information it may seem so, Wiseman was accomplished in more ways than one.
Wiseman was not only musically gifted, but academically. With a 4.0+ GPA, multiple AP courses under his belt and fantastic grades along with it, Wiseman could be what one would refer to as the perfect student.
It is safe to say that Wiseman is one of the many students that give the Hill its reputable reputation, and as he goes on to make his mark at JMU, he will be one of the most memorable students not only Clover Hill has ever had, but JMU as well.
