On Oct. 27, the Chesterfield County School Board ruled that Cohort #4 will be returning to the school building on Nov. 9. Cohort #4 consists of 6th-12th grade students that chose to go back to school hybrid as opposed to continuing coursework in a virtual format.

Overall, Chesterfield County has a positivity rate of 5.8%, as of Oct. 27. For the population that has returned in-person to Chesterfield County public schools, 27 cases of COVID-19 have been identified, which is 0.1% of the students, staff and teachers that have returned hybrid. While there has been a rise in COVID-19 cases since the previous school board meeting on Oct. 13, the “majority of the committee agrees that the rise in data is not sufficient to pause the return of Cohort 4,” according to the Chesterfield County School Board.
