Announcements:

Chesterfield County Public Schools is offering free tutoring for students through the Stride tutoring service

Students can get teams together and sign up in the library for the NCAA March Madness Trivia competition. Teams of 1-4 people will compete during Cav Morning in the library on Wednesday, March 29 to see who can take the prize. Spots are limited so see a librarian to sign up soon.

The school is looking for a few volunteers to assist with the Champions Together Unified Track Team. Practices start after spring break on Thursdays. Interested students can come by Room 229 for more information.

“Heartstopper” beat “The Walking Dead” and “Demon Slayer” beat “One Punch Man” in the final four of the library’s Manga Madness competition. “Heartstopper” will now face off against “Demon Slayer” in the championship. Students can go to the library to cast their votes. 

There will be rehearsals for the spring play, “Into the Woods,” all week from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

 

Last week:

Ten Japanese exchange students spent a week at Clover Hill during their trip to the United States. The students came from Saitama Municipal Urawa High School in Saitama, Japan. It was the first time Clover Hill exchanged students with Saitama Municipal Urawa since before the pandemic, and the program will continue next year. Clover Hill students will have the option to go the other way to Japan for a week next year. 

Student art work went on display at the county’s fine arts festival over the weekend at Thomas Dale High School.

 

This week:

Monday (3/27):

Today will be a half day for the end of the third nine weeks.

Today’s spirit week theme is Adam Sandler day. 

There will be a senior social during fourth block. Seniors with tickets will report to the forum after the announcement for the social to grab their pizza. Then they will proceed to the cafeteria for the social. There will be a raffle using the tickets.

The varsity girls’ lacrosse team will face off against Thomas Dale on the road. The game starts at 6 p.m. 

The boys’ lacrosse team will play against Thomas Dale at home. The game starts at 6 p.m. 

 

Tuesday (3/28):

The girls’ tennis team will play against Monacan at home. The match starts at 3:30 p.m. 

The boys’ tennis team will play against Monacan on the road. The match starts at 3:30 p.m.

The baseball teams have games against Midlothian. The junior varsity team will play on the road and the varsity team will play at home. Both games start at 5 p.m.

The softball teams have games against Midlothian. The junior varsity team will play on the road and the varsity team will play at home. Both games start at 5 p.m.

The girls soccer teams will have matches against Midlothian on the road. The junior varsity game starts at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity game starts at 7 p.m.

Wednesday (3/29):

Cavs for Christ will meet before school in room 423.

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) will meet after school in room 005.

There will be an Advanced Placement Literature review session from 3:10 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the forum.

The girls JV lacrosse team will play against Midlothian on the road. The match starts at 5:30 p.m. 

The boy lacrosse team will play against Midlothian at home. The match starts at 6:00 p.m. 

The girls varsity lacrosse team will play against Midlothian on the road. The match starts at 7:00 p.m.

The track and field team will compete in a district meet at Manchester High School. The meet starts at 4 p.m. 

The boys’ tennis team will play against Powhatan at home. The match starts at 3:30 p.m.

The girls’ tennis team will play against Powhatan on the road. The match starts at 5 p.m.

In the community:

The Cocky Rooster restaurant, a local chicken place, is expanding to open a to-go location at Independence Golf Club which is located at 600 Founders Bridge Boulevard.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints opened a temple in Glen Allen, near Richmond, which is the first such temple in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It will serve the 100,000 Virginianians, including 34,000 in the Central Virginia region, who are members of the Church.
