Stranger Things is undoubtedly one of the biggest shows of the 21st century, established by its captivating presence on many household TVs, as well as a deep sense of nostalgia, comprised of 80s and modern culture.
With a total of five seasons, creators Matt and Ross Duffer have introduced audiences to a unique take on the science fiction genre, memorable characters that have made their way to viewers’ hearts, and a revival of 80s aesthetics.
Stranger Things has acquired a multitude of achievements in the past 10 years since its release on July 15, 2016, including winning 12 Primetime Emmy awards and one Screen Actors Guild Award, with a total of 113 awards over all.
However, accolades and nostalgia are being set aside for this final season. In the eight episodes of the season (all now on Netflix), the Hawkins crew dive into the Upside Down one last time and put an end to the torment of the show’s main antagonist, Vecna. The final season has been in Netflix’s Top 10 since its release on Nov. 27, accumulating over 137 million views, crowning it as one of the streaming service’s most successful original series.

Personally, this show has always been a favorite of mine. I came across it as a kid back when the first season released in 2016, and almost a decade later I still love it like I did then. The diverse characters, the 80’s midwest setting, the intriguing plot, all of it has made this show a timeless classic that I will definitely rewatch in years to come.
There are many other Stranger Things fans at Clover Hill High School, such as freshman Cassandra Auburn, who has a deep love for the Netflix original series.
“I believe [the show] has a strong grip on most because of the genres and aesthetics. The show is set in the 80s, [so all age groups can resonate with it either through nostalgia or interest], and most teens like the blend of horror and drama genres in a story,” Auburn said.
As a lover of music, Auburn also appreciates the nod to 80s music that show creators, the Duffer Brothers, include in every season. Songs such as Diana Ross’ “Upside Down” and Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” have regained popularity after being a part of the show’s soundtrack, proof of the impact that it has on audiences.
“My favorite song that they played was ‘Every Breath You Take’ by The Police. I favor it because I heard it a lot in my childhood, and it’s nostalgic for me, and I feel it fits perfectly with the show, ” Auburn said.
Auburn also admires the unique storylines introduced within the show.
“I have many [favorite storylines], but I think my most favorite right now is in season 5, with Robin teaching Will on how to learn to accept himself and how she did so herself. I think the dynamic is both powerful and important,” Auburn said.
Among Auburn, other students such as freshman Charles Schmidt also expressed fondness of the show.
“My favorite character is Delightful Derek, and my reasoning for that is that you must simply watch the show,” Schmidt said.
However, Schmidt comically remarks that some aspects of the show could have been tweaked.
“I would rewrite to change Will’s bowlcut {hairstyle], because that was just atrocious,” Schmidt said.
Schmidt also made it clear that he is ready for the show to end after almost a decade of airtime.
“The actors are getting pretty old to play teenagers, so I believe it is only appropriate for the show to end,” Schmidt said.

Stranger things Is some I started watching because of my brother, my brother was watching stranger things, in the living room one day, and I wanted to bond with him; Eventually I found out that he didn’t watch the whole thing, but before I knew it I was already done with the whole thing praying for a new season. Through out the show I wished they changed Will Byers hair cut. The more I watched it the more I wanted to know what happened next.

I do think this show is one of the best made in the 21st century. The writing and acting are so of the best ever. I am a big fan I’ve re watched it at least 2 times. The show has themes that anyone would like, from I do think this show is one of the best made in the 21st century people that grew up in the 80s, and kids like have heard and enjoy the 80s aesthetic. This show has some of the best music choices. The Duffer brothers will go down as one of the best writers and producers. They have 113 awards just for this one show on Netflix, in this day and age that is unheard of. Even with the ending of the series this show will still be watched by millions.

I started watching stranger things when I was 10 and I loved the show since. I love the show because the whole show story line is really good and interesting so it never gets boring when watching. I also like how the show ended because you don’t really know what is true or not and you can choose to believe what you want. My favorite character in the show is robin because she is so energetic and funny and she is herself no matter what. I also loved when Robin encouraged Will to come out and be himself. One of my favorite songs in the show is “Running up that hill” by Kate Bush because it’s a good song and I always get it stuck in my head when I watch stranger things.

Hi My claim is that the article proves the argument of the article well in showing why Stranger Things remains a favorite, for ten years. The article makes a case. The article shows that Stranger Things holds a grip on viewers because the genres and style of Stranger Things are powerful. Cassandra Auburn says that Stranger Things has a grip, on most because the genres and style of Stranger Things are powerful. The article notes that Stranger Things is set in the 80s and mixes horror and drama. I have watched Stranger Things. I understand why many people keep watching. Moreover, there are also some parts of the article that mention some of the cultural influences of the show, such as when songs like Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” and Diana Ross’ “Upside Down” became popular again since they appeared in the show, which shows that it is more than just a television show. This argument proves that the article was able to successfully argue that Stranger Things is indeed a cultural phenomenon and a favorite among many people.
