“Quality over quantity,” Baseball program thrives despite roster limitations.

Following a successful 15-7 season in 2025, Clover Hill Varsity Men’s Baseball returns for the 2026 season with a considerably smaller roster. Last year they held a full JV roster and a 15 player varsity roster. This year, Clover Hill Varsity Baseball follows up with a rotating 11 man roster. Despite this, the Cavs remain optimistic because of their legendary head coach Brett Mooney. Mooney shares his thoughts about his program.

“This is a great group of guys, the program we’re building here is truly something special. The chemistry we have in the locker room is motivation at its finest. I have full confidence in our roster, they wouldn’t be here if I didn’t. Our guys make the practices mandatory, they want to be here, if they’re goofing off and get written up or don’t go to school, their punishment is that they can’t go to practice. Everyone wants to be here, missing practice is these guys’ worst nightmare,” Mooney said.

The varsity baseball team played their first game on Mar 23. Kicking off their official season, but these cavs have been grinding during off-season workouts since the first week of school. Senior Carson Hupp shares his thoughts on the team’s accomplishments.

“I’m really proud of our team, a lot of these boys have come a long way since the start of the year,” Hupp said.

The baseball program believes in themselves and they know that’s all that matters, the team has come up with a new mindset and slogan called the “E.D.G.E” that restates their mindset, mentality and

motivations. Every player on the team was assigned to recite the motive word for word to lock the mindset into their minds and dial it in.

Sophomore Andrew Brownie shares his excitement for the upcoming season.

“I like our chances against any team, any school. I trust my teammates and my teammates trust me. Bring it on!” Brownie said.
