Clover Hill High School girls soccer is continuing to train and work hard halfway through their season. Their captains and coach have led the team to success, and they are trying to maintain it for the rest of the year.
There are many leaders on this team who have played big roles. Not only have they led the team, but they have also shown their talent and skills on the field. Senior Karis Raimo understands the importance of the captains on the field and their impact on the game.
“I think captains have done a pretty good job leading us through hard games. I feel like they’ve done well,” Raimo said.
Winning games is important, but this team always finds a way to have fun at practice and games. This helps their team chemistry and helps them play better together.
“I would say team chemistry’s pretty good. Everyone has a good time, and it makes it more fun,” Raimo said.
With many talented players on the field, defenders have been the team’s stars this year. They have continued to limit the number of goals an opponent scores and have played a big part in this team. Senior Shannon Francis is part of this starting defense lineup.
“Our defense is definitely our biggest strength,” Francis said.
Having the capability to play different positions can be extremely helpful on the field.
“I think Camden has been playing a pretty big role because she’s been flexible with where she plays,” Francis said.
First year coach Erika Hackworth has been very helpful with building players’ confidence and giving them advice. She has improved players’ skills and helped them overall understand the game better. This is one of the many reasons the team plays well together.
“She is really supportive, even if we are not playing as well. She gives us good instructions and direction,” Raimo said.
The Cavs are going to continue working hard the rest of the season and fight for more wins.
