The Clover Hill Softball season is halfway finished and the girls are continuing to grow as a team and get results they are looking for.

Having strong leadership has helped this team accomplish great things. Brianna Miller, Senior captain, has helped lead everyone in the right direction.

“Our team captains are me, Kristen, and Reagan. I think that we really helped show the underclassmen understand what a leader is. We’ve definitely helped them through having to play at different positions, because the seniors are the ones that have mainly had to play different positions because of injuries. So I think that they’ve just done a really good job of helping players through it and teaching them how to play different positions if they haven’t played there before,” Miller said.

This team has worked incredibly well together and they have trained with a purpose. Junior Olivia Kelly understands that team chemistry helps every athlete understand the game better and have more fun playing during games and practice.

“Our team chemistry has helped us to not get mad at people and be able to move around different positions. Then we can still play without messing up all the time and knowing what’s happening,” Kelly said.

This team always has someone to go to when they need advice on skills or even mentality. The Softball assistant coach has done an amazing job helping players learn the game this year.

“Our assistant coach has helped us the most, because she understands how it feels as a player  and listens to us. If we have a problem, she’s the one that we always go to. So I think that she just really helps us through mentally, rather than physically,” Miller said.

This team has learned to be versatile with all the injuries their team has been through.

“I’d say working together and since people have gone hurt, we’ve learned how to play different positions that we normally don’t play. We have grown and learned how to play wherever you can,” Kelly said.

CHHS Softball is going to continue to compete and train hard to maintain a successful season.
